Frequently asked questions

Everything about Onida AC service in Shimoga

How long does a Onida AC service take?

A regular service usually takes 45 minutes to an hour per unit. Repairs and gas charging can take longer depending on the fault.

Do you provide Onida AC installation in Shimoga?

Yes. We install and uninstall split and window ACs, including copper piping, vacuuming, drain setup and electrical connections.

How often should I get my Onida AC serviced in Shimoga?

For regular home use, a full service once before summer and a filter clean every two weeks during peak use works well. ACs that run most of the year may need a second service mid-season.

Why is water leaking from my Onida AC indoor unit?

Most often the drain pipe is blocked or the indoor unit is not sloped correctly. An iced coil can also cause dripping when it melts. We clear and correct the drain during the visit.

Do you service ACs on weekends in Shimoga?

Yes, we work on Saturdays and Sundays too, subject to availability. Booking early helps during peak summer.

Service for Every Onida AC Model

Onida ACs are found in many homes, including window and split units that have been running reliably for years. Older units need a little more care, especially around capacitors, fan motors, copper joints and gas levels, and our technicians know what to check first.

Our Onida AC Repair and Service Options

Every visit starts with a proper check. Depending on the fault, the work can include:

  • Copper piping and drain work: proper flaring, brazing and insulation so there are no leaks or sweating pipes later.
  • Regular service and jet wash: foam or high-pressure water cleaning of the indoor coil, filters, blower and drain tray, along with a wash of the outdoor condenser.
  • AC shifting within Shimoga: we pump the gas down into the outdoor unit before removal so it is not wasted during the move.
  • Annual maintenance plans: scheduled service visits through the year for homes and offices with one or more Onida ACs.
  • Fan motor and capacitor replacement: a weak capacitor is one of the most common reasons an outdoor fan or compressor struggles to start, and it is a quick fix.
  • Sensor and thermostat faults: replacement of room and coil temperature sensors that cause the AC to cut off early or run non-stop.
  • PCB and electrical repair: component-level checks on the PCB before replacement, which often saves a significant amount of money.

Onida AC Care Suited to Shimoga

Hot summers and sticky monsoons in Shimoga mean your AC is doing two jobs: cooling the room and pulling moisture out of the air. Regular servicing keeps it efficient at both and prevents water leakage and musty smells.

Booking a Technician in Shimoga: Step by Step

  • Call 9311587715 or send a WhatsApp message with your AC model and problem.
  • A technician is assigned and you receive a time for the visit.
  • You get a clear diagnosis and a price estimate before any work begins.
  • The job is done neatly, with covers used during cleaning and waste cleared afterwards.
  • The AC is run and tested in front of you before the technician leaves.

How to Get Better Cooling from Your Onida AC

You can avoid many breakdowns with a little care:

  • Do not agree to a gas top-up without a leak check; gas does not get used up on its own.
  • Keep curtains drawn in rooms that get strong afternoon sun.
  • Run the fan mode for a few minutes before switching off to help dry the coil.
  • Keep the outdoor unit in a shaded, open spot with space for air to flow.

Why Choose Mr Service Expert in Shimoga

We keep our service simple and transparent:

  • One number for all appliances – the same team can help with your RO, washing machine, fridge and more.
  • Upfront pricing – the cost is shared and agreed before any work starts.
  • Quality spare parts – we tell you which part is going in and why.
  • Trained technicians – who work on multiple AC brands daily, including Onida.
  • Proper testing – the AC is tested in front of you after every job.

Signs Your Onida AC Needs Attention

These are the complaints we attend most often in Shimoga:

  • Loud or unusual noise: loose panels, a worn fan motor or a vibrating outdoor unit.
  • Outdoor unit not starting: often a capacitor, contactor or wiring issue between indoor and outdoor units.
  • Water dripping indoors: water on the wall or floor usually points to a blocked drain line.
  • Error code or blinking lights: we read the code for your specific model and test the part it refers to.
  • Bad smell from the vents: mould and bacteria on a wet, dirty coil, cleared with a proper service.
  • Not cooling enough: the room takes too long to cool, often because of blocked airflow or a gas leak.
